Is she taking after her brother????

Decorating the Tree

We started off by making some Sprinkles cupcakes to enjoy after we decorated.

The kids helped me make them.

We carry on a family tradition and we each get a new ornament for the year.  It has to relate to something we have done throughout the year.

Chloe:  Bottle of fingernail polish....the girl LOVES a manicure
Cade:  The swimmer - he learned to swim this year.
Phoebe:  A pair of shoes - she learned to walk this year.
Bryan:  A boat - he drove a boat at Big Cedar and now he desperately wants his own.
Jill:  A pencil - For teaching Mother's Day Out this year.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is Cade's FAVORITE event!  The kid loves it!
He loves dressing up, the decorations, the costumes and of course trying to scare everyone!

We started the day off with a few treats from Mom and Dad....followed by pumpkin colored pancakes.

Then we met at Amy and Steven's for dinner and trick or treating.

Phoebe helped Nana stir the Goblin Juice...

Cade as a Skeleton Pirate....yes, it's a different costume than last night.

September Birthday Bonanza

We celebrate quite a few birthdays in September.....Nana, Grace, Sophie, Amy and myself.  I don't have pictures of all but here is a glimpse of a couple of them.

Grace's Birthday

complete with a hot dog roast

and princess races.

Happy Birthday Grace!

We always celebrate Amy's at the Great State Fair.

Happy Birthday Amy!

Stone Ridge Fame

Both kids were up on stage at Wildcat Wakeup this morning.  Cade's class was reciting a poem called "Two Little Blackbirds".  Chloe went on stage because she is now part of the Piedmont Poets.  She goes to the library on Wed/Thurs and recites a poem to a volunteer poem mom.  She did her first one last week so she was recognized this morning.

Makes Your Heart Happy

Cade is an awesome big brother to Phoebe.  He watches out for her, makes sure she isn't doing something that could hurt her, gets overprotective when another person shows Phoebe attention.....I could go on and on.  Today, they were playing together and it was really quiet so I went in to check on them.  Here is what I found.

Reading her a story....

Way to go BIG BRO!

Sunday Fun

We spent some time together today making brownies.  Nothing special, just plain ol' brownies.  It's so nice to cook with my kids.  They are at the age now where they can measure accurately, pour all of the ingredients and basically make the whole recipe.  Pretty stress free, I tell ya.

Makin' memories....that's what it's all about.
