"Mommy, My throat is booming"

Cade let me know last night after having his ice cream for dinner that his head and throat were "Booming". This is code for I have a headache or something is hurting. So, we loaded up and went to the Dr. this morning. However, the strep test came back negative and they think it may just be viral. Lots of rest and cartoons for him.

Chloe later informed him that if you are going to get sick you need to do it on a Monday because the neighborhood pool is closed on Mondays....today happens to be Thursday....

What a smart girl. I can't wait to see what excuse she uses when she doesn't want to go to school.

Who says you can't have ice cream for dinner???

Summer is all about having fun. We decided to skip the traiditonal dinner and have ice cream instead...

Hmm.....caught them sharing. Maybe my words of wisdom are working after all.

Making Memories....

Back to Big Cedar for vacation.....

We absolutely love the place! We went last year for the 1st time and fell in love with it. It's relaxing, beautiful and our family makes lasting memories.

The kids went to "Be a chef for the day" and got to make pizza, homeade lollipops, and smore ice cream. They also decorated their chef hats and aprons. If you ask Chloe, she'll tell you this was her favorite memory this year.

We rented a boat and spent the day on the lake. Cade perched himself at the front of the boat with a constant "thumbs up". He also helped Dad drive.

Chloe didn't love the boat....she wanted Dad to "SLOW DOWN"!!

Underneath the hat Phoebe was crashed....I guess that means thumbs up for her too.

We had a great time and made lots of family memories......

Yee-Haw! It's Rodeo Time!

The big kids (Chloe and Cade) spent the weekend at Benna and Papa's . They took them to a rodeo in Comanche. The kids had a blast! Some of Benna and Papa's good friends brought their horses and let the kids ride with them in the rodeo.

The next day they went fishing with James.

The kids caught lots of fish and had a great time!

Our 1st Shave.....

Cade got his own shaving kit for his birthday so we tried it out last night.

He shared with Sissy too!

Nice Faux-hock Phoebes!

Birthday Party Bliss

We decided to do a joint party this year. Their birthdays are only 1 month apart so this just seemed like a fun way to celebrate each of them. We had such a great time. Honestly, it was one of my favorite birthday parties for them!

First came the invitation.....

Cupcakes..... mmmmmmm, good!

Happy Birthday Chloe and Cade! We love you!

Phoebe couldn't make it....she had special time with Nana and Papa. I say special because she and Papa had their first tasting of dog food.....yes, I said she AND Papa. I guess he wanted to see why she likes it so much!

Is She Almost Here????

This is a phrase we here often when the grandparents are coming over for a visit.
My mom, aka "Benna", was coming over today to watch the kids for me while I went to a dentist appointment. As always, at least one of them camps out, with a chair, staring out the front door waiting for her arrival.....today was no different. Big Sis joined in the waiting process. I think she even tried calling "Benna" to get an ETA...
Well, almost no different. Cade took it a step further and camped out on the sidewalk.
Hats off....guess he's getting hot. Oh, Cade you are so funny and we love you so much!

Popsicles!

Chloe LOVES Popsicles, so we decided to make our own today. I saw a really easy, and pretty healthy recipe for homemade Popsicles that didn't involve sugar filled juice. It's equal parts of your favorite fruit and yogurt blended up and then frozen. My little chefs helped me out in the kitchen and Phoebe played in her favorite drawer, of course, then moved on to gymnastics. The kids shared with Dad when he got home from work.

Hard at Work!

Interesting Phoebe...

YUMMY!!

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the morning at the Edmond Parade which the kids loved, especially Chloe. She was so entertained watching everything. Cade spent a lot of time with Uncle Steven in the shade and Phoebe ate the whole time, which is pretty typical these days. Cade got a special treat at the end...the Star Wars crew went by and a storm trooper in full costume walked up to him and gave him a high 5! It made his day!

Chloe watched, waved and blew kisses!

Amazing! He was so excited!

Happy Birthday Miss Chloe...

Chloe is officially 7! Oh what a big girl. I can't believe it's been 7 years since we brought her home and began our journey as parents. She knows how to read & write, ride a big girl bike without training wheels, goes to school ALL DAY, and literally acts like she's 27 sometimes. She is such a blessing to us and we are so thankful that God chose us to be her parents. Chloe you are awesome and we love you so very much!

Our day began opening presents and shortly after loading up and going to breakfast at the "Donut Store" where we loaded up on the biggest pink donut we could find and a Sprite. Daddy took part of the day off and came home with her favorite lunch....chips, cheese and tortillas from Pablano Grill. Then I got to treat her to "girl time" and took her to get her nails done. After that we were off to the swimming pool where cousins Grace and Sophie met us to swim. We finished the night off with more chips, cheese and tortillas...yes, Dad went back to Pablano for more...and yummy birthday cake. The kids were so worn out by bedtime! Cade actually said he was ready for bed at 6:30!
We love you BUG!!
