1st Annual OU Kick Off Breakfast

We tried something new today....our 1st Annual OU Kick Off Breakfast. Granted, they don't actually kick off until tomorrow night but the kids will be at Benna and Papa's house tomorrow so we did it this morning before school.

I made "O" shaped pancakes and made the "U" out of strawberries. The kids really seemed to like it.

I think we will have to make it a yearly thing. We may have to do balloons and many more decorations next year...

Phoebe was sitting right by the music....we had "Boomer Sooner" playing in the back ground and it was making her a little nervous. She didn't understand why there was so much red and white at the table, why everyone was holding up there finger and singing...I think she might have been a little irritated at us!

GO BIG RED!!

I see children as kites. You spend a lifetime trying to get them off the ground. You run with them until you're both breathless. They crash...you add a longer tail...you patch and comfort, adjust and teach. You watch them lifted by the wind and assure them that someday they'll fly.

Birthday Festivities Continue....

To our surprise today, Mrs. Briscoe honored Cade's birthday. She made a hat and sticker for him and he had them on when I picked him up. He was so excited! We have always struggled with our kids being Summer b-days and never getting to celebrate with their friends during the school year. Chloe did celebrate a 1/2 birthday when she was at Crossings. That was fun..... a little confusing for Chloe because we had a pretend party for her in December!

Big Birthday Boy!

Backyard Grillin'

Bryan wanted to smoke a brisket this weekend so he gathered up his helpers to prepare the meal.

I always thought girls were the ones who got excited about playing dress up......well, not in our house. Cade loves to dress up! He has to change clothes to fit whatever activity he is doing....(as I am blogging he is watching Peter Pan and is dressed from head to toe in green). He grabbed his apron and hat from Big Cedar and started working!

Little Miss Chloe is the organizer...just like her Daddy.

MMMMMM.......it's going to be good!

Chloe's 1st Bible

What a special time for us. Chloe learned to read last year and she wanted a new, big girl bible. One that she could study and read all by herself. We researched them before we went and knew which ones were really good but we left the decision COMPLETELY up to her. She looked at several, actually weighed them in her hands, read a few pages, looked at the pictures, studied the front and back covers and finally made up her mind. We ended up with the Adventure Study Bible. It's actually the best selling children's bible. She is really excited about taking it with her to church Sunday!

First Day of School

Today was the 1st day of school! Wow, were they excited! Chloe is in 1st grade and Cade starts Pre-K. They are growing up too fast. I'm sad but happy at the same time.

Backpacks on and read to go!

Chloe's Desk in Mrs. Bixler's class.

The famous "Cubby"!

Mrs. Bixler gave Chloe such a warm welcome. She is going to have such a great year!

Look, school work already. Didn't we just get here?

Cade's pictures start at the bottom....oops, I'm still learning!

I gave each of the kids a "First Day of School Goody Bag" when they got in the car. I filled it with some of their favorites things.

Cade waiting patiently for the car line.

Cade and Noah....his neighborhood buddy.

Is this the "If I have to smile for one more picture, I'm gonna...." look????

Big Man Walking In!

All went well on the first day. They were each in such an awesome mood when I picked them up. We are really looking forward to this year!

Time for School....

We sorted out the school supplies this evening.

School starts on Wednesday.
I seriously can't believe that they need this much stuff!

We're ready! Chloe is heading off to 1st grade and Cade's in Pre-K.
Don't they look excited???

Cade

Nothing to post....I just loved this picture of him!

Love you Buddy!

She's 16 Months...

Phoebe is growing up so fast. I can't believe she's already 16 months.
She is EVERYWHERE! It's so hard to keep up with her.

She is such a happy little girl.

We love you so much PHOEBES!

All Aboard The Choo Choo Train

Papa and Nana took the kids on the Amtrak train Saturday Morning.

It leaves downtown OKC and arrives in Purcell.

Here they come!!

Daddy meets them in Purcell to pick them up.

Cade's Party at Nana's

Happy Birthday to you.....Happy Birthday to you

No, we don't usually send him to the table shirtless.....he had been playing in the water previously :)

Sweet Nana decorates and makes you feel so special on your birthday.

Star Wars Theme this year.

Nana came up with a new game this year. She is so very creative. She bought a new chair and as she was unwrapping it she thought of PLASTIC RACES. Wow Nana! She cut up the plastic wrapping into strips and the guys raced down the yard pulling Chloe, Cade and Grace....and later Phoebe and Sophie.
I think we made a new birthday tradition!

And the race is on!

The Winners, Gloating.

We love you Cade!

Thanks Papa and Nana for such an awesome party!

Watermelon Festival 2008!

The kids love going every year (this is the 3rd year we have been). We meet Benna and Papa there and it's a lot of fun!

The kids love to ride the rides. Dad felt like he was "getting old" after this ride. He said he felt really sick after spinning around in the dragon....

The big slide....Cade's favorite. He rode it twice.

The girls against the boys.....

Chloe's favorite...the roller coaster.

Maybe you can ride next year Phoebes...
